Judith Helen Jenkins (Judy) loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called to her heavenly home surround by her family on Sunday, October 16, 2022. She was born on August 4, 1939 to the late Ben and Irene Schoknecht in Milwaukee, WI. She married the love of her life, Carlos Jenkins on September 20, 1958, they enjoyed 64 years of marriage and raised 5 children. Judy loved and enjoyed spending time with them and was the family matriarch. She worked at Park Lanes Bowling Alley for 23 years, was an active member of the Loves Park VFW Auxiliary; Verdi Club and Lombardi Club. Judy was a devoted member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and for many years was a Hospice volunteer.
Judy will be greatly missed by her husband Carlos; children: Michael (Jill), John (Dona), Dan (Crystal), Kristine (Mike) Murphy; son-in-law William Hevrin. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings: Susan (Mike) Nowak and Sandra Kilpatrick.
Judy was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Hevrin; parents; father and mother-in-laws Edgar and Elam Jenkins.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggest to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses for their help the last few days of Judy’s life. Thanks to the staff and nurses at Davita dialysis for all their loving care and kindness. Many thanks to all of Judy’s lady friends at the clubs she was very active in for their love and friendship.
Funeral mass will be 12:00 PM Saturday October 29, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church 600 Clifford Ave in Loves Park; visitation for Judy will be from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at the church.
