Gregory “Greg” S. Groth, 69, of Rockford, IL passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Chicago, IL on March 18, 1953 to Frank and Beatrice Groth. Greg married Gloria Nelson in Rockford, IL on October 7, 1972 and together they had 2 children. He worked for Pacific Scientific for 8 years and then went on to own and operate G & W Home Repair. Greg loved spending time with his family. Greg was an avid golfer, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, and enjoyed downhill skiing. He was a kind hearted man who could make anyone laugh. Greg will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Greg is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria; his children, Aimee Magee and Scott Groth; his grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Brad, Kevin, Glora, and Kalie; his great-grandchildren, Lizabeth and Scarlett; his brothers, Fred (Sue) and Ken Groth; and his brother-in-law, Danny (Cumli) Nelson. Also survived by his son, Rob Miller and his 3 children; Ian, Christopher, and Megan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Beatrice Groth; his brother, Frank 'Tuck' Groth; his nephew Danny W. Nelson; and his in-laws, Warren and Helen Nelson.

Funeral Service for Greg will take place at 2:00 pm. on Friday, November 4, 2022at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 W. State St. Rockford, IL 61102. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm. until the time of service. Burial to follow in Willwood Burial Park.
