Gerald Mason Brown, 82, of Davis Junction, IL, passed away recently in Rockford, IL. He was born June 18, 1939 in Rockford, IL, the son of Mason and Edna (White) Brown. Gerald married his sweetheart Janet Terwilliger on August 1, 1959. He worked many years in the sheet metal work in the Rockford and Chicago. Gerald was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 219 Union. His biggest accomplishment was attaining his pilot’s license. In his younger years, Gerald played the drums in a band and traveled to many places.
Gerald is loved and missed by his wife of 62 years, Jan; children, Julie Poupard and Jason (Safia) Brown; granddaughters, Jocelyn, Jenna and Jayla; siblings, Frannie, Sharon, Glen and Kathy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Kenneth, Owen, Lorita, Laraine and Barbara.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at New Life Evangelical Church, 1100 N. Lyford Rd, Rockford, IL 61107
