George A. Hammer

George was born on August 18, 1939 in Rockford, the son of George and Theresa S. Hammer. He married Vera L. Noble on October 9, 1965. George loved fishing, crossword puzzles, word search and watching wrestling on TV.

George is survived by his loving wife Vera; daughters: Diana (Francis) Johnson, Kathy Neblock, Dawn (Jeff) Richman, Tammy (James) Stripling and Angie (James) Blake; grandchildren: Ashley Hammer, Chelsey Hammer, Elizabeth Stripling, Alexander Stripling, Michael Neblock, Ciarra Kozack, Jordon Richman, Rachel Richman, Amber Blake and Arika Blake; great-grandchildren: Gavin Hammer, Brody Pixler, Thomas James Lindsey, Toby Lindsey, Jocelyn Kozack, Jasmin Kozack, Gracie Kozack and Masen Garmin; siblings: William Hammer, Alberta Woodrow, Lucille Stehley, Gerri Hammer and Crystal Hudson; several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; grandson J. T. Stripling; two sisters Irene Dascenzi and Josephine Terrell.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private services will be held later. Advantage Funeral Home 7000 West State Street in Rockford is assisting the family with arrangements.
