Dennis Francis Beck, 72, of Rockford, was Born on June 29th, 1946 and passed peacefully on May 11th, 2019 surrounded by family. He was a wonderful Father, Papa, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, and Man. Dennis had fought a long battle for many years with COPD. He is the son of the Late Delphanie Beck Dillon. Denny married the love of his life Wanda Lee Carroll on July 13Th, 1968 in their hometown of Rockford, IL.
Denny loved to build things with his hands. It was normal if you seen Denny with a can of Old Milwaukee in his hand because that was his favorite beer. He worked as a welder for over 20 years and also in a machine shop for many years, he was a jack of all trades. Family always came first for Denny and his friends were always like family.
Denny left behind his wife, Wanda Carroll Beck; daughter, Tammie Lynn Beck (Charlie Welch); son, Kevin Francis (Amy) Beck; grandchildren, Paul Odell Francis Beck, Victoria Lynn Stewart (Lane Scherer), Gabrielle Ondrea Laffery, Donald R. Stewart, Keegan Francis Beck, Kylee May Beck, Samantha (Ryan) Cross; great-grandchildren, Ares Bell, Myleigh Jenkins, Cameron Jenkins, Joslyn and O'dyn Cross; siblings, Denise (Edward) Pierce, Aldeana Herman, Linnea (Edward) Vanbarrager, Pamenda (Allen) Clark, Donald (Valerine) Beck, and Leon (Karen) Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his mother, Delphanie Beck Dillon; daughter, Kathleen Y. Stewart; grandparents, Clara and John Johnson; uncle like a brother, Francis Beck; brother, Mathew Dillon; aunt like a sister, Rose Pulliam; uncle like a brother, Duwayne Beck; brother-in-law, Warren Herman; close friend, Bill Clark. Special people in his life were Gary and Sharon Stoltz, Diane Gulbrantson, and Robert Carroll.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21 at Advantage Funeral Home, 7000 West State St, Rockford. Tara Clark-Hanrahan is officiating the service. Per Dennis's request Cremation Rites have been accorded. Family wishes for you to have an Old Milwaukee in Denny's memory.
Celebration of Life will be also held on June 29th to celebrate his birthday with an Old Milwaukee toast.
