Charles A. Warner, 98, of Rockford, IL, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024. He was born June 17, 1926 in Massachusetts, the son of Charles and Pearl Warner. Charles proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Kay Erby on May 4, 1968. Charles enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry. He loved a good cup of coffee, watching the Chicago Cubs win and was an avid Trump supporter. Most of all, Charles adored his family and will be dearly missed.
Charles is survived by his children, Charlene (Bill) Delventhal, Denise Strike, Thomas (Laurel) Grimes, Nancy Vikouski, Sharon (Tom) Garrity and Connie Warner; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay, son Charles "Charlie" Warner, daughters Sandy Darr, Sandra Johnson and Elaine Rostron, son-in-law Timothy Vikouski, siblings Doris, Margaret, Donald, Ronald, Clyde and his twin brother Earl.
A visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Charles will be laid to rest in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61102.
