Allen Bruce Robertson

Allen was born on February 1, 1933 in Rockford, the son of Thomas and Roxie (Guio) Robertson. He graduated for West High School and served in the National Guard during the Korean War. When Allen was discharged from the army he worked for the gas company and Bob’s Hardware. Allen then worked for Barcol Overhead Door Company for 27 years. Allen was a lifelong member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. He sang in the Forest City Chorus and several quartets and was an avid golfer.

Allen was married to Sharon Fundy in 1955, married Dolores Rosengren in 1957 with whom he had 3 children: Marc (Mary) Robertson, Paula (Mike) Murray and Lisa (Steve) Gentry. Allen married Donna Zentz in 2001. Allen leaves five grandchildren: Michelle and Stephanie from Marc and Mary Robertson; Faith, Seth and Abigail from Lisa and Steve Gentry; numerous nieces and nephews; brother George (Diane) Robertson and sister Nancy (Joe) LasCasas.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don and Terry, wives Sharon, Dolores and Donna.

A service to celebrate Allen’s life will be 12:00 pm on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 W. State Street in Rockford; visitation for Allen will be from 11:00 am until time of service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services. Condolences may be sent to www.advantagefunerals.com
