Joyce Ann Green

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.

Joyce was born on July 13, 1938 in Rock Island, the daughter of Harry and Loretta (Holdt) Harder. She married Major Lee Green on October 23, 1954 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2010.

Joyce worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Anthony’s Hospital and later at Franciscan Hospital, retiring after 29 years of service. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Joyce was an avid reader, and poker player. She loved tending to her flowers, and enjoyed watching the antics of the neighborhood birds. But most of all, she loved the time spent with her family, especially her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and son-in-law, Connie & John Coster, Sherrard, and Kristine Mussatto & her companion Ricky Nettles, Rock Island; sons & daughters-in-law, Michael Green, Davenport, Duane & Nancy Green, Davenport, and Jimmy & Dawn Green, Manawa, WI; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother.
