Ronald William Topper, 75, of Mt. Airy, GA, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed November 20, 2016. He was born October 4, 1941 in Beaver Falls, son of the late John and Dorothy (Gumpf) Topper. Ron proudly served his country with the U.S. Army.
He was a retired Freight Hauler for Townsend Corporation and also the owner/operator of Topper Trucking. Ron was a drag race enthusiast who enjoyed racing high performance street cars at the Salem Raceway. In his leisure, he also loved to fish.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded by an infant son: Ronald Dwayne Topper in 1966. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Brian (Sarah) Topper, Allison Park; one daughter and son-in-law: Julie (John) Thiry, East Palestine, OH; four grandchildren: Jonathan, Anna, Claire and Audrey; one brother: James Topper, Beaver Falls; as well as a niece and nephew.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a brief service to celebrate Ron’s life at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
