passed away on February 4, 2023 at the age of 93.
Born on December 9, 1929 in Callery, Pa to parents Cletus and Ethel (Neely) Alger.
Ronald proudly served in the army in the Korean War where he learned the value of hard work and attention to detail. He was an electrician for IBEW 712 for nearly 30 years. During that time he also administered the apprenticeship program for new electricians. Near the end of his career he was the primary crane operator for Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station Unit 2 where he installed the reactor cooling system components.
Ronald loved life and lived it fully. He was an avid reader of history and accomplished gardener, woodworker, cross stitcher, and puzzle builder. He loved watching historical shows and loved all fine arts. He loved to tell stories and give advice.
Survived by daughter Melissa (John) Feragotti and their children Ronald (Catalina Mancilla), Robert (Clara Cheng), Christina (Nick Columbe). Also survived by niece Cyndi Kyriacou (John Nychis).
Additionally survived by stepchildren Lynn (Tony) Lonnett, Bill (Becky) Horter, Dan (George Hawes) Horter, John Horter, Tom (Cindi) Horter, and Karen (Mike) Fleming, 13 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. All of whom adored him.
Predeceased by his parents, brother Glen and his wife Dorothy. Also by wife Jeanenne, to whom he was married for 32 years and who passed in 2021.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10:00am until the time of funeral services including military honors at 12:00 noon at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
Our Poppa is gone from our sight but embedded in our hearts forever. Rest in paradise, we will see you again.
