NEW SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP
Robert C. Maybury, 93, of New Sewickley Township, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017. He was born December 6, 1924 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Harry and Margaret (Florig) Maybury, Sr. Robert proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was an accomplished musician who enjoyed both performing and arranging. In earlier years he was a member of the Teddy Zee Big Band. Bob arranged a variety of music for brass instruments and faithfully played the organ for the Monaca O.E.S. and St. John’s of Lovi Evangelical Lutheran Church for a number of years. Bob was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Syria Shrine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years: Ruth (Noble) Maybury in 2014; daughter: Lorraine Ignatz and brother: Harry Maybury, Jr., both passed in July of 2017.
Bob is survived by one son: Bruce Maybury, Monongahela; two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda (Robert) McArdle, Imperial; Diane (Keith) Johnston, North Huntingdon; son-in-law: Gary Ignatz, Export; four grandchildren: Lori, Lisa, Michael and Seth; four great grandchildren: Robbie, Justin, Sarah and Evan.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) with the Rev. Dennis Burnett, officiating.
