Robert “Bob” Houser, 82, formerly of Monaca, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh. He was born on January 2, 1941 in Aliquippa to the late Frank K. and Margery (Bradford) Houser.
Bob was a retired civil engineer with the St. Joe Lead Company of Monaca and an active member of the Crestmont Alliance Church in Hopewell until his health declined. In retirement he enjoyed volunteer activities, including Crestmont Church’s MOPS program (Mothers of Preschoolers) and World Vision in Sewickley. Bob proudly served in the Army during Vietnam and was a graduate of Geneva College.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Alan (& Mary Ray) Houser of Pittsburgh and Norman (& Sylvia Zhao) Houser of Shanghai; two grandchildren, Olivia and James Houser; a brother, Kenneth Houser of Aliquippa; and a sister, Marilyn Brock of Gray, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys M. (Smith), and his two brothers, John and Frank Houser.
Bob will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park next to his wife Gladys.
According to the family’s wishes, services are private and have been entrusted to the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc., 273 Rt. 68, Rochester, PA 15074.
