Born April 20, 1932 in Fombell, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Esther A. (Schramm) Simmons. At the young age of 16, she married the love of her life, LaVerne "Pete" Cron, who preceded her in death on August 16, 2004. Together they had five children. Margaret owned and operated her own ceramic shop, Cron's Ceramics, in the township for many years. She loved to paint and to teach others her passion.
Along with her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dianne L. Giuliani, son-in-law, Joseph "Spike" Kelly, a daughter-in-law, Mary L. (Spagnoli) Cron, and a sister, Phyllis Pander.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Melody S. Kelly, Martin L. Cron, Sr., Lisa (Robert) Dietrich, and Deborah L. Cron. Twelve grandchildren: Joseph (Michelle) Kelly, Angelo Kelly, Anna Giuliani, Mia (Josh) Richardson, Tina (Dan) Colucci, Gina (Nick) Anderson, Martin (Heidi) Cron, Jr., Matthew (Heather) Cron, Kaydi (Brian) Taylor, Jesse (Jenna) Dietrich Sr., Shane (Amanda) Dietrich, and Maggie Dietrich (Fiancé Jesse Johnston). And twenty great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Robert S. Simmons, Florida and Richard L. Simmons, Ellwood City, a sister, Nancy J. (David) Dishler, and a brother-in-law, Thomas Pander, Georgia.
Friends will be received Wednesday February 20, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, Inc., Rochester, where services will be held Thursday at 11am. Private Entombment at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to Katrina and Judy with Gateway Hospice for their unending and loving care of Margaret the past 21 months and also to Danielle, Tiffany, NoNo, Leah, and the entire staff of Elmcroft. You made "Mum" feel special and when you were there, we had no worries!
