On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, Julia Fay (Richard) Eckman, age 32, of New Sewickley Twp., passed away peacefully after a long illness. Preceded in death by her beloved son Elliot James and her grandparents James and Dolores Ferry. She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey A. Eckman; her dear son Lucas William Eckman; devoted parents Thomas (Kathleen) Richard and Linda Jean (the late Keith) DeHaven; brother Thomas A. (Nikki) Richard, Jr. and their son Connor; grandparents George (Ruth Anne) C. Richard, Jr.; brothers-in-law Jeremy M. Eckman and Bradley R. Eckman and sister-in-law Leeanna M. Eckman; father- and step mother-in-law Mark and Beth Eckman; mother and step father-in-law Jacque and Timothy Leaf; grandmothers-in-law Patsy (the late Arthur) Wolfe and Lela (the late Ralph) Eckman. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A compassionate and caring nurse, Julia strived tirelessly to achieve her Registered Nursing degree. She devoted her life to her family, especially her husband Jeff and son Lucas. A beautiful soul with a bright smile, she lit up a room wherever she went.
Friends invited Sunday, January 19th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc. (at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park) where a Blessing Service will be held Monday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park next to her son Elliot. Memorial contributions in Julia's memory may be made to National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD).
