John (Jack) Stauffer was taken home to be with the Lord and his sons, Dean and Justin, on October 20, 2023. Jack was surrounded by his family and felt their love traveling with him as he entered into heaven. It was certainly not expected at this time but we know that he is no longer in pain and able to be himself again. Jack loved his grandchildren and family so very, very much. He loved to joke, loved his watch collection, his cars (especially his 2015 Mustang), his beaches and boats. He lived large and dreamed even larger! Hearty laugh, “good talk”, “look at this, Caren”, are only a few of the things we will miss. His heart was as big as his laugh and always willing to give and share even if it was his last penny. The family home was an open door filled with laughter and so many people at dinners and ventures and pranks too! He loved the noise! He loved to see the craziness and confusion (usually some stirred up by him). He so loved his family and they so loved him!
He is survived by his wife, Caren Stauffer, Children Courtney (Jeff) Carter, Ian (Rachael Vari) Stauffer, Brad (Sandra) Knight, Christi Bryant, Heather Brownlie, Linda (Jim) Devlin, Grandchildren Aiden and Emma Carter, Harley Stauffer, Jacob and Zachary Bryant, Deanna Knight, Josh, Kayla and Madison Devlin; Siblings Thomas (Anna) Stauffer, Carolyn (Joseph) Scurnopoli, Drew (Lyndia) Stauffer; Several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by the loss of his sons Justin Stauffer and Dean Knight. His parents Smith and Elizabeth Stauffer, Mother-in-law Alma Williams and Brother-in-laws Joseph Scurnopoli and Rick Williams.
As a family we know that our journey has been interesting but the love and laughter are memories we will never ever trade. You will be so missed and we know are keeping your words to Caren/Mom and looking for that perfect beach. Till we see you again, hear our words “WE LOVE YOU”!
Private Memorial services will be held at a later day. In lieu of flowers please contribute to the Leukemia Society or Tunnel to Towers, two of Jack’s favorite charities.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home 273 Rt. 68 Rochester, PA 15074
