John C. Malloy, 75, of Monaca, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 while under the compassionate care of the VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh. John was born November 4, 1945 in Coraopolis, son of the late Henry and Letha (Petersen) Malloy. He was a graduate of Freedom Area High School. John proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and began working as a crane operator for North Star Coal with the Barge Service Division. Later in life he was employed with Pennsylvania Metal Cleaning.
Back in his younger years John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Monaca American Legion Post #580 and the Center Township VFW Post #1821. On a warm summer day or evening, John loved to spend time with his friends at the Post having an ice-cold beer. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca.
In addition to parents, and his loving wife of 43 years: Judith “Judy” (Mineard) Malloy who passed on January 21, 2014, he was also preceded by three brothers: Patrick, Larry and Frank Malloy; and three sisters: Lucille Malloy; Helen (Malloy) Landis; and Bonnie (Malloy) Hudak.
John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Christopher (Heidi) Malloy, Beaver; his daughter and son-in-law: Hope (David) Mielke Vaccaro, South Park, PA; two grandchildren: Matthew Malloy, Pittsburgh; Lindsay Malloy, Beaver; one sister: Eleanor Yablinsky, Monaca; many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
Military Honors will be presented by the members of the Beaver County Special Unit on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by a brief service to celebrate his life. Private interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
