In both sadness and celebration we announce the passing of Janet “Maggie” Morris, Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born in Bridgewater, PA on September 3, 1924 to the late Myrtle Beatrice and Andrew Penney. Janet resided in Bridgewater most of her life living on Leopard Lane, working in the human resource department of Kaufmanns for many years.
She moved to Charlotte, NC with her son in 2011 where she resided in an assisted living home until her death. She was a beloved mother to Sandra Roberts-Taylor (Tracy) of Denver, CO and to James Morris (Robyn) of Charlotte, NC., grandmother to Jada Dixon (David), Castle Rock, CO; Joy Roberts, Los Angeles, CA; and Ryan Morris, Charlotte, NC; and great grandmother to Maia Roberts Galan, Castle Rock, CO. She leaves behind her sister-in-law Dorothy Robinson, Beaver Falls, PA, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband James (Roundy) Morris, her sister, Laura (Josephine) Olden, brothers, William (Bill) Penney and Charles (Jiggs) Penney.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
Military Honors will be presented at 2 p.m. in the funeral home by members of the Beaver County Special Unit. Her home-going service will begin at 2:30 p.m. with private interment in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. On line condolences may be offered at www.saul-gabauer.com
