James F. Barr Jr., age 68, of Beaver Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. James was born February 28, 1954 at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late James F. Sr and Anna Mae (Walker) Barr. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Rochester, he was a graduate of Rochester High School, California University of PA and had further studies towards his Master's Degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. James started his career working for the automobile industry for Volkswagen in New Stanton, PA, he then moved to the state of Michigan, to Woodhaven, and for 20 years worked with the Union Auto Worker Local 3000, he was Financial Secretary-Treasurer. James moved back to Pennsylvania because he no longer could work because of his illness fighting Parkinson's Disease. He loved music, Jazz, and listening to a variety of tapes. He loved sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers (his favorite team), he watched Basketball (NCAA, NBA and WNBA, and Tennis. He also enjoyed playing music; piano, drums and xylophone.
He is survived by his wife of over 35 years; Elaine Morse Barr; a sister, Joyce Barr, a brother Michael (Janine) Barr, two nephews; Frederick Shegog and Mychal (Amy) Spencer and their two children. Also surviving are many other loving extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Barr.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 11am until the time of a memorial service at 1pm at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
