Gladys Ellen Stewart

Gladys Ellen (Mattern) Stewart, age 92, of Allentown, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Gladys was born March 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Lydia (Becker) Mattern. Gladys was strong in her Christion Faith and a proud member of her church Journey Through the Word Bible study group. She was a devoted spouse, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a dedicated and caring nurse with a tender heart for all of her patients. She will also be remembered for her other joys in life of baking, gardening, sewing and singing in the church choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William A. Stewart (2019), one sister, Mildred, and one brother, Norman.

She is survived by one daughter; Dr. Beth A. Folio of Allentown, and one son, Mark A. (Debra) Stewart of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren; Arielle, Ryan, Erica and Janet, and two great grandchildren; Natalie and Jack.
