Gary Dean Pfeifer, 61, of Patterson Heights, passed on Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was born September 3, 1954 in Rochester, son of the late Dean and Laura (Ferry) Pfeifer. Gary was a graduate of Penn State University and employed as a Project Estimator with Centria.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed is long time relationships at the Beaver Valley Golf Club where he both played and assisted in general course maintenance. Gary was a proud member of the Penn State Alumni Association and enthusiastically supported every alumni event that he could attend. One of his favorite duties was to man the ice cream station. Gary expressed his faith as a Lutheran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law: Judy and Bernie Reid; Terry Hawk; and a nephew: Michael Berg.
He is survived by his loving sister: Leslie Gruzinski, Hopewell Township; nieces and nephew: Kirsten (Ray) Magerl; Jason Reid; Shawna Hawk; Jackie (Brandon) Berg and Mallory Gruzinski; his former brother-in-law Jack Gruzinski who remained a very close friend; many great nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNRAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) and on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Private entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
