Born in Ilion, NY on September 4, 1954 to the late Lyle & Esther Maine, Tom graduated from Richfield High in 1972. Growing up on his family’s farm instilled in him a life-long passion for farming. He dedicated his life to raising his family, working with animals, building life-long working relationships, and service to others through his natural carpentry skills. Additionally, he held a deep appreciation for fair & friendly-spirited competitions like ball games and billiards.
He is predeceased by his aforementioned parents; a brother Clifford Maine; and four brothers-in-law: Daniel Blake, Robert Phetterplace, Joseph Giambrone, and Philip Blake.
Tom is survived by Pam; three sons: Tom Jr. (Tyler) & his partner Steve of Moosup, Connecticut, Tony & his partner Maggie of Herkimer, and Eric; seven grandchildren: Brandon (18), Sarah (17), Trissa (16), Zachary (14), Kaidence (8), Maxl (4), and Cheyenne (5 weeks); three sisters, two brothers, and seven siblings-in-law: David & Shirley Drake, Keith & Barbara Dye, Edward Maine, Billie Giambrone, Frederick & Anne Blake, Betty Phetterplace, Lorelyn Blake, and Douglas & Terry Maine; 13 nieces & nephews, several cousins, and loving close friends.
Expressions of sympathy may be addressed to the Maine Family at Tom’s home of 40 years in Ilion, NY. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held beginning at noon on Saturday, January 11 at the Town Hall of Columbia, 147 Columbia Center Rd, Ilion, NY.
