Stephen Jameel Moore was born on October 26, 1984 in Rochester, NY to Willie Moore Jr. and Elaine Griffin Moore. As a young man, he came to know Christ at the Church of The First Born under the leadership of Bishop Robert Glover. He attended Richmond Senior High School in Richmond County, North Carolina. He excelled in football and earned varsity letters. After graduation, Stephen attended Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. He never lost the love he had for football, playing briefly for a local semi-pro football team. He loved to give back in any way that he could, often volunteering at the House of Mercy and Salvation Army. Stephen had a passion for coming up with innovative recipes, as he loved cooking food. Many people will remember Stephen for his big and welcoming personality. He was a big dreamer and loved telling stories to encourage others to better themselves. He loved being around his family any chance he got. He is predeceased by his loving Mother Elaine Griffin Moore; Brother Khaleel
Dasher; his maternal Grandparents Jimmy and Louise Griffin; Uncle Howard Griffin and Aunts Marilyn Gaines and Mary Moore. He leaves to remember him dearly, his Parents, Willie and Clarencine Moore; Godparents Patrick and Marjorie Louis; Sisters Tiffiney Goodwin and Lydia Albritton (Michael Albritton); Godsisters Fadja, Jenny, and Theresa Louis, and Darnelle Williams; Brother Patrick Goodwin; Godbrother Joshua Louis. Nephews Felton, Jonathan, PJ, Nyles, Thomas, Michael, and Merritt- along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
A memorial service for Stephen will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home, 2125 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624. Following the memorial service will be a repast to follow in our reception room at 1:00 PM.
