To my Willis cousins:

  I am deeply sorry to learn today of the death of (your Mom) Sheila Willis. All of you are in my prayers during this difficult time of mourning.  Our Moms were very close, and I have many happy memories of visiting at your parent's home in Chili, or meeting your Mom for lunch with my Mom and my sister Kitty, as well as Family Reunions, Weddings, etc.

Harold Willis was my Dad's (Stan Melville) childhood best friend, and my Melville Grandparents (and great grandparents) also knew him well.  My Dad always considered Harold to be his best friend as well as his brother-in-law (though your Dad referred to them as "Outlaws" rather than "In-Laws")and no one could make my Dad laugh harder than Harold Willis.  It was also Harold who brought my Dad to meet the North Family when he was home on leave from the Navy (1950?)  Initially my Dad dated Sheila and Harold dated my Mom, Anne North.  I guess they all decided that wasn't working out very well, and switched dates (without any hard feelings!) and the rest is history.  All you Willis kids could have been Melvilles and the Melville kids could have been Willises.  (That thought will definitely mess with your sense of reality!  LOL!)  Best friends married sisters and both marriages lasted a very long time.  Your parents were wonderful people, and they will both be greatly missed by the entire family.  

     I feel certain that Aunt Sheila, Aunt Rita, Aunt Louise, and my Mom are all on the other side organizing the reunion party for that time when the entire family will be together again.  No doubt it will be a memorable soiree.  :-)

    Although I have lost touch with many cousins over the years, (and am just getting to know many of my Melville cousins for the first time!) I hope that any of you reading this will "Friend" me on Facebook.  You will find me under the name Rebecca Melville Rubinstein.  Hope to see you all there! :-)

My prayers go out to the Willis family at this time.  Last I saw Sheila in the beginning of July, when she Margie and I went to lunch at the diner in Chilli. I had a nice time with her, she shared some funny stories and jokes. Her smile I will miss.

She will be so missed. Aunt Sheila was such a welcome presence in my grandparent's home; I was lucky to visit with her as well on those occasions. Fondest memories and deepest sympathies to my cousins as you mourn the loss of such a special woman.

We are very sad for your great loss!  You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Aunt Sheila:  You will be greatly missed, your kind and gentle ways.  I'm glad I was able to visit with you last time I was in NY.  God Bless and I'm sure you are pretty busy in heaven organizing the place.  Love to my cousins: you have all done your parents proud. Prayers on wings to all of you.  Very sorry for your loss.
