Robert, known by his friends and colleagues as Bob, was born on September 27, 1927 in Rochester, New York to parents Ruth (O’Neill) and John McCarron.
He had a long and successful career as a master plumber. He enjoyed swimming and diving, skiing, hiking, bicycling, fishing, skeet shooting, sailing, canoeing, and picnicking and shared those loves with his family. Bob had an unforgettable presence, an authentic charm that stayed with all who met him. He never suffered fools but he loved to laugh and enjoy his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, John, mother, Ruth, and his brother John. E McCarron. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Wilber) McCarron, their two children Trish McCarron and Tom McCarron, his sister Jean Conolly and her husband Bill, his granddaughters—Rebecca Beetz and her husband Dominic; Claire Lobenfeld; Margot (Lobenfeld) Borchin and her husband Andrew—great-granddaughters Emma Beetz and Marla Beetz, and former son-in-law Eric J. Lobenfeld.
No formal funeral services are planned, donations may be made in his memory to Friends of Karen, 118 Titicus Avenue, North Salem, NY 10560.
