In loving memory of Marie Rose Gelo Lane, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and to all that knew her, a Saint. Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Forest Lane, who passed on September 12, 2020.
Marie was born in the roaring 20’s, grew up during the Great Depression and was working a job during a World War, never drove a car or used a computer and lived through it all.
Family took paramount position in the Lane household and raising four children was the start of a fruitful world of delight to Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
The devotion that only sisters share had a special place in Marie’s heart. When her sister Joyce spent extended time in a convalescent hospital as a child with no visitors except parents, Marie took a job there to be able to visit her. In their golden years, they spoke every day on the phone at 3:00pm.
Marie led an active life, swimming daily as well as neighborhood walks to keep in shape. She loved to humor people with impersonations of the Banana Man, TV commercials, and a clucking chicken.
She was a devoted wife to Forest Lane for almost three quarters of a century. Together they shaped the future generations of Lanes’ to carry the torch of love and respect for their fellow man. She will surely be missed by all she touched with her gentle spirit.
As per Marie's wishes, there will be no public services held at this time.
