She was predeceased by her husband, Don; and siblings, Angelo (Leah) Sangiorgi, Lena (Ken) Kneut, and Julie Hayward.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) Ferugia, and Mary Jo (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren, Matthew Ferugia, Nicole Ferugia, Christina (Dan) Matteo, Julie Ferugia, Anthony (Jane) Marrero; great-grandchildren, Micah Matteo, Bria Matteo, Jan Xylo, Annabelle Marrero, Abigail Marrero, Janine Marrero; brother-in-law, Lloyd Hayward, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Helen Loretta House was born on April 14, 1932 in Lyons, NY. She was a telephone operator in NYC, a bank teller in Florida, and worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles as a clerk in FL, where she retired at the age of 72. Helen enjoyed talking to people and learning about their lives. She loved to sew and travel. She enjoyed taking yoga classes, and spending time with family and friends. Helen loved volunteering at hospitals and nursing homes, and was a lector and Eucharist minister for many years. She was very active and loved by many.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, at St. Pius Tenth Church, 3010 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. She will be laid to rest in the South Lyons Cemetery, in Lyons, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Serenity House or St. Pius Tenth Church.
