She was born to Norman and Vera Richardson on September 9, 1925, in Rochester, NY. Gerry attended St. John’s Catholic School (K-8) and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1943.
On February 8, 1947, she married William Krockenberger at St. John the Evangelist Church, marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love and devotion.
Gerry worked at Kodak for 9 years until her daughter Kathy was born. She never went back to work but devoted her life to being a homemaker. She has 2 grandchildren, Danielle (Michael) Fisher and Nicole DeLorme (J.T. Constantino). She also has 2 great-grandchildren, Austin DeLorme and Riley Sweet.
She was a master of crossword puzzles and baking. Gerry enjoyed golfing with her friends (she golfed until she was 92), playing BINGO, bowling, playing cards and she enjoyed her cocktail at happy hour. She learned to play poker at 97 which she loved. Not to mention her love for travel.
Gerry and Bill loved to travel. They bought their first RV back in the 70’s, the camping bug bit them. They traveled every summer because she and Bill would say it was too hot in the Florida summer heat. They had many wonderful trips traveling across the country. She and Bill even traveled to Alaska 5 times, where he loved to fish.
Gerry was predeceased by her parents Norman and Vera Richardson, her husband William Krockenberger, her brother Kenneth Richardson, her sister Sally (Richardson) Kenyon, her nephew Thomas Kenyon and her niece Karen Kenyon. Her memory will be kept alive by her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
They lived in Rochester, NY until 1983 and moved to Florida. She and Bill lived there together until his passing in 2008. She continued to live in Florida until 2021 when she moved back to Rochester into the Community at Mill Landing.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on July 9, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Church at 2400 West Ridge Rd., Rochester, NY 14626. Gerry will be laid to rest at White Haven Memorial Park. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements entrusted to Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home.
