Elmiranda "Elmer" A. Stivers

Elmer grew up in Corning, New York with her 9 brothers and sisters. She moved to Florida when her husband, Ted, retired. She was an avid golfer and won two club championships at her Golf Course. She was a highly competitive individual in all sport and activities.

After her husband passed away, she moved to Webster, NY, to be with her daughter. She met many friends as she became a bridge and euchre player. Again she loved to win. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren, when visiting, would always want to sit down and play GIN and try and beat her, which didn’t happen very often. We would call her the BIG KAHUNA. The grandchildren’s nickname for her was Granny Grunt. While in Webster she met a lovely gentleman, named Jim Barringer, and they became partners. They enjoyed many years together. Even at age 96 she was extremely youthful in her dress and appearance, which was extremely important to her. Even the day we moved her into hospice she required a shower, makeup and a nice outfit.

She is survived by her sister, Mary (Rockie), her son, Bob (Ann), her daughter, Pam (Arthur), her grandchildren, Jeffery (Bonnie), Bobby (Karina), Jadie, Derek, her great grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley (Chase) and her great great grandchildren, Tripp, Charlotte, and Ariel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore, her 4 brothers (Jimmy, Augie, Joey, Frankie) and her 4 sisters (Rosie, Theresa, Gracie and Joanie).

To our mother in heaven, thank you for always loving us and guiding us. Even though you are no longer here with us we can still feel your love guiding us. You are always in our hearts. We love you and miss you dear.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster, NY 14580. A reception will follow.
