DeWane Lee Elmore

DeWane was born in Kansas and grew up in Junction City, Kansas. DeWane did a tour of duty in the U. S. Air Force and was stationed in Morocco during that time. After he got out of the service, he went with his cousin, Vernon Mock, to Portland, Oregon and stayed with his brother, Harvey Elmore, while they looked for work. Vernon remained in Portland while DeWane moved to Richmond, Indiana and stayed with his sister, Shirley, while he looked for work there. While there he met and married Jeanann Pheanis. He would remain in the Indiana/Ohio area until he retired. He and Jeanann would retire to Zephyrhills, Florida, where they would enjoy many wonderful years. During the last few years of his life he moved to Rochester, New York to be nearer to his daughter and grandkids.

DeWane was very involved in a group called The Volunteers, who did odd jobs for people around his retirement community. DeWane enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching baseball and doing puzzles.

DeWane was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and his wife Jeanann. He is survived by his brother, Allen Elmore (Rita) of Junction City KS; his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Spencer (Christopher) and grandchildren, Stephen and Amanda, all of Rochester NY.

In keeping with DeWane's wishes, there will be no public funeral services held.
