Thomas R. Nast, of Shelby Township, MI, passed away on September 1, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born in Detroit, MI on June 20, 1941 to Rudolph and Dorothea (Rossbach) Nast. Tom graduated from Denby High school, received his Bachelors of Science from Wheaton College in Illinois, and earned his MBA from the University of Detroit. His true passion in life was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Jane of 55 years; daughter Jennifer Moore (Jason); son Jonathan Nast (Claudine); grandchildren Jane Marie and Zoe; and brother Theodore Nast (Karen). Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Nast. Tom was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Over the years, he served as deacon, trustee, greeter, Sunday school teacher and on the Missions Board. Tom was a member of Woodside Bible Church Troy for the last 28 years. Tom developed many interests through the years including golf, racquetball, birds, tropical fish and plants. Tom loved people. He loved to laugh. Tom was kind, gentle and tall. Tom had a career in automotive supply with Ford Motor Company, Detroit Die Cutting Company, and was a co-owner of Omni Industries.
Donations can be made to Seed Company in Tom’s honor for a Bible translation project.
A memorial service for Tom will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills, MI, 48326. Services will be held outside. Due to COVID, please check with family before attending.
