We are sad to announce the passing of Dr. Roy Ormsbee of Romeo, Michigan. Roy was 81. He was born on May 30th, 1942, and died on August 20th, 2023. Roy was loved at home by his family and at the office by his patient family. He always encouraged everyone to dive into life, whether it was purchasing a new home, running a big race, or simply having the courage to say something to someone. Roy’s thirst for knowledge in his career and personal life were exemplary. He graduated from Palmer College with a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree and followed that with a Chiropractic Orthopedist degree. Dr. Roy studied anthropology and astronomy throughout his lifetime.
Roy was an avid nature and animal lover who cared for many animals—pets, strays, and wild. He saw them as sweet souls that could use some help.
Roy grew up on a dairy farm in Medusa, NY, where his lifetime love for baseball, basketball, running and weightlifting developed. After joining the Army and graduating from college, he ran for most of his life, including marathons, and continued to lift weights into his final days. Roy was a magnanimous man with a quick wit and sly smile. He was a strong, loving, compassionate family man that will be sorely missed by all.
He is survived by Patricia Ormsbee, his brother Ray Ormsbee, and dear friend and business partner Martha Allender. He was a proud father of children Dr. Colette Restaino, Dr. Kyle Ormsbee (Katherine), and Colleen Ormsbee. He was a proud and loving grandfather to five grandchildren: Morgan Schauer(Dr. Patrick ), Jake Restaino, Alfie Ormsbee (Andrew Collier), Sabrina Ormsbee, and Meadow Ormsbee.
Plans for a memorial service and a celebration of Roy’s life will be announced in the coming weeks.
