He met the love of his life, JoAnn Juhl, at a church camp. They were married for over 69 years before her passing in 2022. Roy took great pride in his service in the United States Air Force where he served at Kimpo Airfield, Seoul Korea and Andrews Airforce base in Washington, D.C. He headed to Rochester, Michigan in 1956 where he joined the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department. He later joined up with his father to help run the family business, Rochester Glass, where he became a renowned businessman. He was a former president of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Glass Dealers Association. Roy was an accomplished woodworker with treasured pieces owned by many family and friends. As longtime members of St. John Lutheran church, he served in various rolls including Youth Board and Board of Trustees. Roy took great pride in his service to his country, community, and church. His greatest joy always centered on faith and family.
Roy is survived by his children Cathy (Dennis) Evans, David Juhl, John Juhl, Daniel (Erika) Juhl (Dan deceased Jan 2021); sisters Lois Cassidy of Lancaster, PA, and Barbara Herbranson of Largo, FL; brothers Dennis Juhl of New Port Richey, FL, Marvin (Lorraine) Juhl of Titusville, FL, Melvin (Shirley) Juhl of Titusville, FL, and brother-in-law Roy (Sandy) Greenleeof Albion, PA; grandchildren Jennifer (Michael) Evans Fry, Doug (Megan) Evans, Rob (Kelly) Evans, Melanie Evans, Brian Juhl, John G. T. Juhl, and Sara (Jeremy) Myrick; eight great-grandchildren and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Pixley Funeral Home - Auburn Hills, 3530 Auburn Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Interment and Military funeral honors will take place immediately following at Christian Memorial Gardens West, 521 E Hamlin Rd.,
Rochester Hills, MI, 48307.
