Robert Raymond McGowan

McGowan, Robert R., age 97, of Rochester Hills, September 5, 2015; loving husband of the late Josephine; dear father of Richard McGowan & Kathleen Black, Ronald (Kristine) McGowan and Joyce (the late Ronald) Young; grandfather of Briana, Ryan and Chad; great-grandfather of Isabella and Samuel; brother of the late Lowell McGowan, the late Richard McGowan and Jeanette Perry. Robert retired from the Internal Revenue Service completing 31 years of service; served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, received his Master’s Degree in Administration from Western Michigan University; married Josephine L. Knapp, April 27, 1946 in Belmont, MI, and was a member of the American Legion, life member of the F. & A.M., a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and a former member of the Avon Players. Funeral service Wednesday (in-state 10 a.m.) 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 100 Romeo St., Rochester; visitation Tuesday 3-9 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W.
