Robert Stanley Chrisman

Robert S. Chrisman, 81, of Rochester, passed away July 16, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital. He leaves his wife, Pearl, of 55 years and son, Stephen. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth. He also leaves a grandson, David (Amy), who has two children: Jayden and Carter. Grandchildren Conner, Kyle and Samantha are the children of his daughter, Elizabeth. Also preceding him in death are brother Hugh (Eva) and sister Imogene Chrisman Etherton (Robert). Other remaining family are sisters Larue Chrisman Mitchell (Melton), Hilda Ann Chrisman Berry (Robert) and Julia Chrisman Robertson (David), and brother William Max Chrisman (Dorothy). His niece, Linda Gabrysiak, of Rochester has been very dedicated to seeing that Robert received the care he needed after his health declined. Robert was born to Tollie and Eural Chrisman on April 28, 1936 in Buchanan, TN. He was a mechanic for many years with the Rochester Dept of Public Works. He also served as the AFSCME Chairman. He loved golf and fishing. Memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI 48307. The family plans to donate a bench to be placed in Rochester Municipal Park. A dedication service is planned for a later date.
