Richard was born in Pontiac, Ml to the late William and Ruth Stinson. He grew up in Birmingham, Ml and graduated from Birmingham High School in 1958.
He met the love of his life Carol in 1959 and they were married on Nov. 21, 1961. They raised their family in Royal Oak, MI. Richard was very involved in coaching tee ball and flag football for his son's teams. He seemed to always be taking in stray animals brought home by his daughter Debbie.
In 1986 he and Carol moved to Kings Cove in Rochester Hills, Ml where he served as President of the Board for 28 years and he also served on the Paint Creek Trail commission. He was also very active in the community.
Richard retired from General Motors in 1999 after 38 years of service.
Favorite pastimes include Nascar and watching the Detroit Lions. Dick (as everyone knew him by) always had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor that was unmatched!
He was a great presence and will be missed deeply by all that knew him.
