Nancy, daughter of Robert and Frances Trowbridge was born on November 26, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan. Raised in the metro-Detroit area Nancy met her future husband Bill in 7th grade when her family moved to Bloomfield Hills. She graduated from Bloomfield Hills High School in 1960. Nancy was a force to be reckoned with. Always hungry for knowledge and fascinated with new ideas she pursed her education. She attended the University of Michigan for two years where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and then graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in Liberal Arts and received her MBA from Central Michigan University. In retirement, she continued to educate herself while she attended Life Long Learning lectures at Florida Atlantic University, expanding her thinking, especially in art and philosophy.
Once Nancy graduated from college, she started to work for the family business, Wright Tool Company in Troy, Michigan. Here she found her true passion for all aspects of business, from financial to sales and marketing. She loved it all, excelled in it and contributed greatly to the success of Wright Tool Company. In her own words she said, “…ever driven by the entrepreneurial spirit, I can win! Fire in the belly!” was her attitude.
In all of life Nancy had high energy, enthusiasm and multiple interests that did not slow down even in retirement. She loved to travel - Europe, China, Mexico, South and Central America. She was a member of several book clubs and an investment club. She was an aficionado of art, music and theatre. She was a social person who thrived on being part of groups and meeting new people. In retirement she enjoyed the comradeship of the Bay Harbor Yacht Club where she and Bill enjoyed boating on Lake Michigan.
Through all of this she managed a household and brought joy and love to her family, whom she cherished more than anything. Loving, appreciative and encouraging with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed whatever time she could with them. Nancy passed on her love of animals, especially dogs and horses, to her children and grandchildren. Her positive attitude and love of life will be truly missed by her family, but also by her many friends. Nancy was an amazing and gracious woman who loved life and gave her all to it.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents Robert and Frances, son Curtis and daughter-in-law Jo Anne. She is survived by her husband of 58 years William (Billy) Wright. Her daughter Cynthia (John) Heimstadt, grandchildren Kelsey Wright and Ross Wright and sister Barbara (Dave) Emmons.
