Merle Schultz Jr.

Merle Schultz Jr., son of Frances Mae Hicks and Merle Schultz of Kewanee Illinois passed away on March 12, 2013. He grew up in Detroit where he graduated from Denby High School and earned his Bachelor of Science at Detroit Institute of Technology. He worked as Director of Human Resources at American Natural Resources until his retirement in 1984. He was a former member of the Lutheran church Missouri Synod at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Rochester Hills MI. Merle was also an active member in the Heart of the Hills Barbershop Chorus who sang everywhere he went. He is survived by his wife Betty of Rochester Hills, daughter Lisa Ardanowski (Chris), sons Brian (Dona), Brad (Donna), and Kevin (Sue), sister Barbara Erz, nieces Tracey Eichenlaub, Kathleen Erz, and cousin Donald Schultz. He is predeceased by his daughter Kathy Canestraight (Jim) and cousin Roger Spolar DDS (Karen). He is also survived by grandchildren Heather Scillion (Dave), Jonathon W. Schultz, Jason Schultz, Jennifer Schultz, Andrew Schultz, Lauren Canestraight, and Lucy and Sam Ardanowski. He is survived by many great grandchildren, Carter and Briana Scillion.
