Mary Ann was born the daughter of Clyde and Cleopha (Stolly) Bowers in Lima, Ohio on January 28, 1922. She graduated from Saint Rita’s Catholic High School in Detroit, Michigan, class of 1940. Mary Ann was married to Bernard McGee on December 27, 1941 at Saint Rita Catholic Church. Mary Ann and Bernard raised their family in Detroit. Bernard passed in 1987. Mary Ann was remarried to Charles Lingenfelter in 1990 until his passing in 2011. She was a longtime member of Saint Mary of the Hills Catholic Church.
Mary Ann enjoyed word games and playing cards. She was very devoted to her faith and her family.
Mary Ann is survived by her children MaryAnn (Wayne) Kippola, Kathleen (late John) Leh, Dennis (Peggy) McGee, Colleen (late Doug) Gross, and Maureen (Don) Healy; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty McGee.
Mary Ann’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Wednesday October 4, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 5th, at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. instate) at Saint Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, located at 2675 John R Road in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Interment will be private at a later time at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ann’s honor to the Bellbrook Retirement Community and Trinity Hospice. Envelopes will be available at Pixley Funeral Home and Saint Mary of the Hills Catholic Church.
