Louise M. Sanders

Louise M. Sanders, age 87, of Rochester Hills, died peacefully on January 11, 2023. The daughter of Jerome and Louise Katherine (Née Hindman) Radtke, Louise was born on March 16, 1935, in Detroit, MI. She worked for many years in the Oakland School District’s autistic program and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration where she served until her retirement.

Louise enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans for her family members, especially her grandchildren. She loved the Christmas season and would bake gingerbread houses and collect elaborate Christmas ornament sets for those that she loved. She was an active member of The Older Persons’ Commission (OPC) where she spent much time and had many friends.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her and will always be remembered for having the ‘last word on any subject.’ Louise was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sanders, son Michael Sanders, and brother Jerome Radtke. She is survived by her children (Brent A. Buszka, Kenneth Sanders, Kimberly Pollis, and Robert Sanders), her grandchildren (Jody, Katelyn, Stacey, Jill, Samantha, Daniel, Brent, Christopher, Zoe, and Zia), and many great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 18, from 4 to 8 PM at Pixley Funeral Home and hold the funeral service on Thursday, January 19, 2023, 11 AM at Pixley, located at 322 W University Drive, Rochester, MI, 48307. Reverend Pat Nelson will be officiating the ceremony.
