MAHONEY, Dr. Kenneth John, D.O., age 89, of Rochester Hills, died August 7, 2015. Ken was born on February 11, 1926 in Union City, N.J., son of the late John and Lillian (nee Tonne) Mahoney. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Force. Dr. Mahoney, a Pediatrician, practiced many years at both Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital and Crittenton Hospital. In 1977, he became Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State School of Osteopathic Medicine. Ken was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Bloomfield Hills, a former member of Peoples Church of East Lansing, and was a volunteer at the Muscular Dystrophy Camp. He is survived by his children James (Mary Ann) Mahoney, Thomas (Leslie) Mahoney, Timothy (Valerie) Mahoney and Mary Ellen (Ron) Leithiser. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and best friends Bob and Millie Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2009 and sister Marilyn Mannell. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, 11 am at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 165 E. Square Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. The family cordially invites you to join them for a luncheon immediately following the memorial service.
