She was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 30, 1937. Kay graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit and later was married to Ronald Irvin Porteous on December 1, 1956.
Kay had a career in floral design for Kroger in Orchard lake and was a proud member of Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Waterford, Michigan. She had a passion for ceramics, embroidery, travel, and eating her favorite- Sander’s Hot Fudge.
Along with her loving husband Ronald I Porteous, Kay is preceded in death by her daughter Sheryl Wagner; sisters Violet Joan Snow and Sally Baker; and brothers Gary and Ronald Warren.
Kay is survived by her son Daniel M Porteous of Auburn Hills; daughter Tamara (David) Martin of Oxford; son-in-law Randyl Wagner of Rochester Hills; grandchildren Hollie (Ed) Gawrelak, Amber (Kyle) Passeno, and Kristen and Robert Martin; great-grand sons Ian and Nolan; brother Earl R (Cynthia) Warren of Ortonville; sister-in-law Carol Warren of Mayville; life long friends Jane and Bill Fluegel, Michele Leaf Paretti, and Joy Patterson; her beloved kitty Paddy; and many other family members and friends.
A memorial visitation for Kay will be held on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with memorial service to begin at 3:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, Michigan.
