Jesus “Jake” Vallar Botardo, age 89, of Rochester Hills Michigan passed away Saturday August 29, 2020. Jake was born the son of Ignacio and Eustaquia (Vallar) Botardo on October 26, 1930 in Salay, Philippines. He graduated high school and earned his bachelor degree from Santo Tomas University.
He married Gloria Botardo and had a career in sales for AAA Insurance and owned his own business. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Detroit. Jake had a passion for socializing with family and friends, community volunteering, fundraising for charities, and civic duties including the Filipino-American’s of Detroit (MFIL-Am). He was an advocate for the vulnerable and underserved people. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
Jake is survived by his children Jay (Rosanna Madarang) Botardo, Jerome Botardo, and Gwendolyn (Paul) Stanulis; grandchildren Sarah Perkins, Anthony Smith, Jacob, Jonah, Joel Botardo and great grandson Ezra Harrington. He is predeceased by his wife Gloria; and siblings Salvadore, Benigno, Miguel, Farmina, and Gloria.
Jake’s family welcome all to a visitation on Monday August 31st from 4-9pm at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 W. University Drive in downtown Rochester. A graveside service will be held Tuesday September 1st at 11am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, located at 25800 W. Ten Mile Rd. in Southfield. Cars will line up inside the entrance at Holy Sepulchre until 10:55am. Social distancing will be in place.
