DAVIS, James Howard - age 79, of Rochester, (formerly of Prudenville) husband of Alice Sue Davis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30 at Ascension Rochester Hospital.
James (“Jim”) was born October 10, 1941 in Floyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Mansford and Vina (Webb) Davis. He was retired from General Motors and a veteran of the US Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kelly (Lisa) Davis of Oxford, Michigan; two grandchildren, Sarah and Gavin; brothers Clarence Davis and William Davis and Sisters Irene Stephens, Loretta Henderson and Phoebe Sowards.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Johnny Davis, Eugene Davis, Harold Davis, Elmer Davis, Taulbee Davis, Delbert Davis, Richard Davis; and sisters Ernestine Clay and Mary Ruth Clay.
Jim loved golfing and spending time with wife, Sue. He was very fond of living “up north” in the Houghton Lake area. Although he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s later in life, he still enjoyed watching golf on television.
