Born on February 19, 1945, in Essex, Ontario. Jack graduated from Royal Oak Kimball High School where he held state records for swimming in the breaststroke and backstroke and went on to build a successful career in automotive sales with Flannery Ford, Matthew Hargreaves, and Avis Ford.
Jack voluntarily enlisted into the United States Army as an 11B US Army Infantry Soldier, and proudly served his country for 4 years 1965-1969 with two tours in Vietnam. Jack earned two Air Medals, a Purple Heart, a Drill Sergeant Badge, and Airborne Wings.
Jack had a deep passion for boating, took great pride in building his dream log cabin in Northern Michigan, and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. He especially loved preparing family dinners and creating lasting memories around the table. Jack always treasured his childhood memories in Essex, Ontario Canada and his Grandparents Christopher and Florence C. (Wade) Smith.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Sellick and Florence M (Smith) Sellick. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his children Christopher J. Sellick of California, Jack L. Sellick Jr. (Michelle) of Tennessee, Stacy A. Wylie (Richard) of Florida, Thomas G. Sellick III, and Michelle L. Wingett (Ryan); 13 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren of Florida; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sister Heather Sellick (Howard Uren) and loving brother Tim Sellick of Florida.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, Michigan, 48307. An interment with military honors will take place Monday, May 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48443.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
