Helen Eileen Ferguson

FERGUSON, Helen E., age 91, of Rochester, formerly of Royal Oak, died July 29, 2015. Helen was born on November 9, 1923 in Wardsville, Ontario Canada, daughter of the late Norman and Sarah (nee Avey) Haviland. She was a graduate of the Detroit College of Business and was an Executive Secretary for the Royal Oak Public School District for 30 years. On February 14, 1948, Helen married Alexander (Bud) Ferguson. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and had a love for dogs. Helen loved to spend time with her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Vince) Caruso, James Ferguson, and Peggy (Brian) Tyler; grandchildren Kevin, Adam, Meghan, Emily, Kathryn, Jane, Bess, Claire and Ian and great grandchildren Charlie, Maddie and Charlotte. She is also survived by a sister Phyllis Heilner. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband Alexander and a brother, John D. Haviland. The family will receive friends Friday, July 31, 2015, from 3 pm to 8 pm at the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. Private interment will be held at Victoria Memorial Gardens, Windsor, Ontario. Canada. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
