Fred Groves

Fred was born the son of Lisle and Florence (Westphal) Groves in Pontiac, Michigan on February 16, 1944. He grew up in Pontiac, Birmingham and attended Seaholm High School. Fred had a career in trucking, logistics, and hazardous material transport.

Fred loved his family and friends most of all. He also enjoyed the outdoors, watching the deer, and traveling up north.

Fred is survived by his children Freddy Groves, Machelle (Terry) Bosanic, and James (Katherine) Groves; and grandchildren Makaela, Terrance, Andy, Emily, Jaime, Matt and Ashley.

Fred was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Judith Groves, his long time girlfriend, Patricia Ciesiolka, and his nine siblings Matt, Grace, Lyle Jr, Eunice, Ralph, Gerald, Betty, Paul and Glenn.

Fred’s family will welcome everyone to a memorial gathering on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of a sharing of memories service at noon at Pixley Funeral Home, located at 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester.
