Frank was born the son of Frank and Anna (Turchetti) Cardillo in Hazel Park, Michigan on February 7, 1935. He married the love of his life, Shirley Westrope, on January 14th, 1952 in Centerline, Michigan. Frank and Shirley raised their family of 4 children in Royal Oak, Troy, and then later moved and retired in Washington Township. Frank started working in road construction with his father and later started a road construction business of his own.
Frank loved his family most of all. He enjoyed making his own pasta, cooking, gardening, woodworking, and playing cards with friends and family.
Frank is survived by his wife Shirley; children Tony (Barbara) Cardillo, Joseph (Kim) Cardillo, Lori (late John) Butcher, and Gina Cardillo; grandchildren Jodi (Ryan) Inman, Dominic (Lisa) Cardillo, Doug (Kayla) Cardillo, Jason Butcher, Frank (Rachel) Butcher, Stephanie (Glen) Ludeman; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Sibling; Michaelina Basch. Frank was predeceased by his parents, brothers-in-law Edward Ignash, Nicolina (David) Kulinski and Charles Basch.
Frank’s family will welcome all to a visitation on Friday October 27, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive in downtown Rochester, Michigan. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 28th, 2023 at 10 a.m. (9:30 a.m. instate) at St. Kieran Catholic Church located at 53600 Mound Road in Shelby Township, Michigan.
