Faye M Parsons was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 11, 1955 to the late Russell and Nell Parsons. She died in Sterling Heights, Michigan on July 5, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her brother Christopher (Brenda), nephew Christian (Dawn), son Jacob and daughter Shannon and nephew Glenn (Lisa), daughter Violet, son Cavan, and dog Luna.
Faye grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan. From an early age, she had a passion for children and teaching. This passion led her to study Special Education at Central Michigan University and Oakland University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree teaching children with Emotional Impairment and Master of Arts degree teaching children with Learning Disabilities, respectively.
Faye taught Special Education for most of her adult life, nearly 30 years. It is not often someone gets to work their passion every day, but Faye did. The last thirteen years of her teaching career were spent teaching grades K-5 at Bradford Academy located in Southfield, Michigan.
Baptized a member of the Sterling Heights Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1984, she has enjoyed a life of service teaching Primary children ages 3 – 12 about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and conducting music for Relief Society (women’s organization) meetings.
Faye encourages all to find or strengthen their testimonies in this life. For those not members of the church, she asks that you seek out the truth of the Gospel by meeting with the missionaries. She desires all to receive the joy from and blessings of the Gospel that she has received.
