Dorothy Mae Bertetti (Hankins), age 96, of Rochester Hills, Michigan passed away Saturday December 5, 2020. Dorothy was born the daughter of Acre and Ethel (Whittington) Hankins in Benton, Illinois on May 31st, 1924. She graduated from high school with the class of 1942. Dorothy married Howard James “Jim” Bertetti in 1947 in Herrin, Illinois. Dorothy and Jim moved to Clarkston, Michigan in 1948 and raised their family. In retirement, they wintered in Florida for many years. Dorothy loved her family. In her younger years she enjoyed gardening and sewing. In later years, she loved to play board games and cards with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Antonette “Toni” (John) Kampsen and Deborah (Brian Klein) Bertetti; grandchildren Tara (Darryl) Richardson, Courtney Eslick, and Brooke Eslick; great-grandchildren Paul Richardson, Kaylee Richardson, Jacob Eslick; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Bertetti; parents Acre and Ethel (Whittington) Hankins; and siblings Millard Hankins, Causby Hankins, Charles Hankins, Loucille Stieve, Louise Hammond, and Virginia May. A private graveside service will be held for Dorothy at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan.
