Brent was born the son of Brent and Sarah (Wallace) Smith in Pontiac, Michigan on January 15, 1976. He attended St. John Lutheran primary school and continued on to Lutheran High Northwest, class 1994. Brent was an outstanding high school basketball player at Northwest. Brent earned his associates degree and married Erika Hernandez on October 10, 2009 in Mexico City. Brent had a career as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry.
Brent was hard worker with a heart to help anyone. He loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed cars, keeping them perfectly clean. He loved his family most of all.
Brent is survived by his loving wife Erika Smith; children Xitlali Hernandez and Alexa Eulene Smith; parents Brent and Sarah Smith; and God-parents Tom and Patty Chambers. He was predeceased by his brother Trevor John Smith.
Brent will lie in state on Friday October 15th, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, located at 1011 W. University Drive in Rochester, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brent’s honor to St. John Lutheran School.
